Like most Sergio Leone films, The Good, the Bad, & the Ugly technically had no original language. Rather, the mixed international cast (Americans, Italians, and Spanish) performed their parts in their own languages and were subsequently dubbed. The film was shot silently, so even English speaking had to be dubbed. It is known that the three main cast members (Clint Eastwood, Lee Van Cleef and Eli Wallach) provided their own dubbing, though the majority of the voice cast are unknown and subject to speculation.
